This morning I thought that I need to get in a post to sort out for when the next session should be, but after the events of the last session, I find that I am not sure about this game anymore.

I was having a really good time preparing and running this game up until the point I stupidly got a rule wrong but interpreting a Stat block as D&D 5th rather than the reverse interpretation that was needed for Pathfinder. People that have played in my games will know that I am not big on rules and if I make a mistake I will correct it for the next time that rule needs to be interpreted, however I will always play out the situation to the way that I have interpreted the rule, unless it makes a drastic difference.

I did this in the session, I apologised that I had got the rule wrong and I explained that I believed that it made no difference at the time.

Yet still, rather than take the DM's word of rule at the table and just get on with the game I was subject to an unprecedented amount of bitching, swearing and complaints for the rest of that encounter, so much so that I was beginning to feel like a pariah in my own home.

To add to my frustration, spoilers to the adventure that I am running were freely given out at the table, completely nullifying the point of this section of the adventure for the majority of the group, so what would be the point in carrying on. In my mind now I am doubting the integrity of my players and it makes me wonder if the volume of the complaints is so loud because they have deliberately prepared for one thing and my rules blunder has nullified that?

I offered to run this game in my time because I was under the impression that people wanted to role-play through it and tell the story of the campaign, which is pretty good. I thought that people wanted it to continue so that they could progress their characters and continue the interactions that had been started at the club.

I run this game in my home as there is never time to do things of this length at the club. To be honest I can cope with the bitching, swearing and complaints in the club environment from people that are half strangers but I steadfastly refuse to put up with it in my own home from people that I have shared food with and would proudly call my friends.

So I am now not sure about whether I want to continue this game and would be interested in hearing what the players thought before I make a decision that sees yet another long running game fail and fall by the wayside to never be finished.

To be honest Dav I thought you were subject to some extremely rude behaviour. Not only with the bitching but with people constantly talking over you when you were trying to move the adventure forward. If I had been GMing in my own house I would have showed everyone the door. So hats off to you for your restraint.

I am a late comer to this campaign so I have less invested in it continuing. However I have never played one of the long published campaign to its conclusion so I would be interested in see it through.

Im easy going on wether this game keeps going or not, I wouldnt want anyone to run a game if its frustrating them or bringing unwanted behaviour into their homes. What ever is decided Dave i respect the decision entirely

Looking back on it, I apologise for my behaviour as it was completely unwarranted and will remove myself from the game if that helps.
